ROBOTIC OPEN HOUSE: ThedaCare Medical Center-Waupaca will host an open house on Thursday, Oct.16, from 36:30 p.m., featuring tours, refreshments, giveaways, and da Vinci surgical robot demonstrations. DICK PAMPERIN PASSES: Richard “Dick” Pamperin, age 84, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, at his home in Marion, Wisconsin, surrounded by his loving family. Dick found his true calling in community banking in 1971 when he joined Gillett State Bank. In August 1978, he joined Marion State Bank, now known as Premier Community Bank, in Marion, where he served as President for 27 years and continued service on the board of directors and as Chairman of the Board. SPINACH RECALL: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced a nationwide recall of frozen spinach products — including those sold in Wisconsin — due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections.
The recall involves Del Mar 35-pound Bulk Organic Frozen Spinach and Sno Pac Organic Frozen Cut Spinach. Read the story here.
VOTERS CITIZENSHIP: Waukesha County Circuit Judge Michael Maxwell on Friday ordered the Wisconsin Elections Commission to review the state’s voter rolls by the Feb. 18, 2026, spring primary election to determine whether any non-U.S. citizens are registered to vote. Maxwell also ruled that election officials must verify the U.S. citizenship of any new registrants. Read the Just the News story here.
ZONING BILL: The Wisconsin Assembly passed AB453, a housing bill requiring local governments to approve rezoning requests matching their existing comprehensive plans. Authored by Rep.
