FALL LUNCHEON BUFFET: As a sure sign of fall, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church ladies will hold their traditional Fall Luncheon Buffet on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Adults are $10, children are $3, and children under 3 are free.

DONATIONS NEEDED: The Thirsty Perch, Iola restaurant and music venue, lost its liquor license in June 2025 due to a court case now resolved. Owners Steve Steeber and Sherri Miller urgently need community donations to cover legal fees and restore their business. A GoFundMe page has been created for donations here. A goal of $9,000 has been set. As of Oct. 1, $1,016 has been raised.

TRICK OR TREAT HOURS: Halloween hours for the villages of Iola and Scandinavia have been set for Sunday, Oct. 26, from 2-4 p.m.

SAVE THE DATE: Northland Lutheran Church’s 107th Annual Lutefisk Supper will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18.

FIRST SNOWFALL: According to Old Farmer’s Almanac, the first snowfall for our area of Wisconsin is expected to be Friday, Nov. 14, based on the projection for Appleton. It could be Nov. 12-13, which is the projection for Green Bay.
