FAKE LAW ENFORCEMENT CALLS: Sheriff Tim Wilz has indicated that his department recently received reports of scammers posing as Deputies from our Sheriff’s Office. These individuals call and claim you missed a court date and may even ask for personal or financial information. Please remember: We will NEVER call and ask for money or inquire about missed court dates. Do NOT share any personal or financial information over the phone with anyone claiming to be law enforcement. These scammers can sound very convincing, but they are NOT from our Sheriff’s Office. If you ever question a phone call you receive, Google the scam or reach out to your local law enforcement agency to verify.
FIRE IN SCANDINAVIA: If the smoke and fire in Scandinavia puzzled or worried you, the Friends of Jorgens Park were doing a controlled burn of their prairie. The burn helps maintain the ecological balance within the prairie.
