CHRISTMAS CARDS FOR THE WILLOWS: Stop in at the Iola Village Library and pick out a card and write a quick note to cheer up a Willows resident this holiday.

LUTEFISK SUPPER WORKERS NEEDED: It’s time to come together and make this year’s Winter Carnival supper unforgettable! We’re looking for volunteers to help with this cherished community tradition. Whether it’s serving, cooking, cleaning, or making some traditional Norwegian baked goods! Every hand makes a difference. In-person sign-up is also available in the Our Saviors Lutheran Church Office or click on this link.

Around the State

RECORD LOW TAXES: The Wisconsin Policy Forum reports that state and local taxes in 2022 totaled 9.9 percent of personal income, a record low driven by rising incomes, state caps on property taxes, and an income tax cut. That dropped Wisconsin to the 35th highest state and local tax burden, another all-time low. WisPolitics reports this continued a two-decade trend of Wisconsin going down in the rankings of the highest-taxed states; in 2000, we ranked number three. – Courtesy Wisconsin Family Action
