WEDDING MILESTONE: Congratulations to Richard and Crystal Anderson for celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary!
VILLAGE OF SCANDINAVIA PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: that a Village Caucus for the Village of Scandinavia will be held in the Municipal Center at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9, for the purpose of placing in nomination candidates for offices of two Village Trustees to be voted on in the ensuing spring election to be held April 2. Positions up for election are the seats now occupied by Mike Hayes and Becky Morgan, both incumbents seeking reelection.
VOLUNTEER TO BE A FIREFIGHTER: The Scandinavia Volunteer Fire Department has an opportunity for you to spend some time with your neighbors twice a month for a couple hours helping those in need! We meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month. Come down and see us at the Fire Station. The firefighters look forward to seeing you.
FAMILY FRIDAY: The Iola Village Library is hosting Family Friday on Jan. 12 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. for the making of paper snowflakes. All ages are welcome, adults must supervise those 12 years of age and under.
FCCLA JUDGES ARE NEEDED: On Monday, Feb. 12, the Iola-Scandinavia FCCLA chapter will compete in the annual District 3 Competition in Stevens Point. We are looking for adults to volunteer as judges for the event. Judging involves reading a rubric, listening to student presentations, and applying the rubric criteria. No past judging experience is required. Most events are practical life skills, interviewing, baking, childcare, interior design, etc. If you are interested in helping out, don’t hesitate to get in touch with I-S FCCLA advisor, Stacy Bestul at bestuls@iola.k12.wi.us.
