SAND MINE: After a five-and-a-half-hour, packed public hearing on Wednesday, July 12, of the Waupaca County Planning and Zoning Committee, the committee has not yet made a decision surrounding the Iola Sand Mine building permit. Read WBAY’s lengthy story here.

IOLA MILLS: Work has commenced on the old stone structure walls to the south of The Mill. It is expected to be completed in October.

LAKE IOLA: A total of 67 Canadian geese were removed from the lake on June 17, according to a Lake Iola Lake District Facebook post.

WHAT WOULD IT BE LIKE TO BE LOST AT SEA?: You can find out by attending the “Lost At Sea” to test you skills and see if you might be able to survive on Friday, July 14, at 2 p.m. at the Iola Village Library.
