A great big thank you to all who have made donations to the Iola Food Pantry!

Iola Lions has exceeded the $1,000 member donation matching plateau pledged by Lion Howie Cook and his wife Roberta. Total Lions donations received to date, including the Lions’ $500 donation and the Cook’s $1,000, is $3,573.

Barbara Johnson Community Mask Project – $300. Barb makes masks and asks for a donation from those receiving them, with all proceeds going to the Iola Food Pantry. The Pantry uses the money to purchase Sunday meals from area restaurants to distribute to shut-ins.

Iola-Scandinavia Chamber of Commerce – $500. The Chamber’s officers determined that many of our Chamber members are in need during this time due to loss of income whether a business owner or an employee.

An anonymous donor also contributed $500.

Total contributed through just with these four donations is more than $4,800.

The Iola Food Pantry is housed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Iola. The Food Pantry is available to individuals and families who are facing food insecurity during this difficult time.
