Float entries sought for Iola Christmas Parade

Entry deadline Nov. 30

By Iola-Scandinavia Chamber

Sure it’s Halloween, but that means Christmas is not that far off! If your business or organization wants to be a part of it, see below for info on signing up your float.

The Iola Lions Club, with help from the Iola Village Library, the Iola-Scandinavia Chamber of Commerce, and the Iola Historical Society, is organizing a Christmas Parade once this year on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 4:30 p.m. With the help of you and so many others our annual Christmas Parade will be a huge success.

The Iola Lions Club is asking for your help to make this year’s parade another memorable event. The organizers ask that you decorate with the Christmas spirit and that the only Santa Claus be the one at the end of the parade. The parade route will be the same as it has been the previous two years and will again end at the Iola Historical Society. Please meet up at the High School at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, to get your place in the parade. With this being a late afternoon parade, feel free to decorate your floats, animals, (and people?) with Christmas lights!

The festivities will continue at the Iola Historical Society machine shed building with the Chamber’s annual visit with Santa Claus. Refreshments will be available.

Please respond by Nov. 30 if you can be counted on to participate in the 2024 Christmas Parade. R.S.V.P. by phone or text-715-281-5450 or email jharbridge@tds.net with the following information: Name, Organization, Contact Person, and Phone #/Email.

Jeannine will follow up the week before the parade to get a script for the emcee to read as your float passes the announcement area downtown.
