UPDATE: Fatal plane crash at Central County Airport

Udated Aug. 22, 9:51 a.m.

A single-engine aircraft crashed at Central County Airport on Saturday, August 19, around 12:57 p.m., according to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department.

The plane overturned while landing and it proved fatal to the pilot.

Bruce Flannery, a 78-year-old pilot from Gladstone, Mich., piloted the plane.

Responding in addition to the WCSD were emergencies units from Iola Fire & Ambulance, Waupaca County Medical Examiner, Michigan State Police, National Transportation Safety Board, and the Federal Aviation Administration.
