Dorothy Anna Kernen
January 5, 1925 – April 10, 2022
Dorothy Anna Kernen, age 97, of Tigerton, Wisconsin, passed away on the evening of April 10th 2022 at the Homme Home in Wittenberg.
Dorothy Anna Kernen was born January 5, 1925, in the Town of Harrison to the late Arthur and Edith (Helgeson) Gutho.
On April 21, 1948, she was united in marriage to Harvey O. Kernen. The couple owned and operated Kernen Lumber and Land on Comet Road in the Town of Germania.
Dorothy’s interests were the outdoors, cooking, baking, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy was a devoted member of the Northland Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and always enjoyed her time working for the annual lutefisk supper.
Survivors include her two children Lynel (Daniel) Lehman and Scott (Anita) Kernen both of Tigerton; seven grandchildren Tara Warren, Nicole Wagler, Nikki Richtmyre, Bradley Lehman, Melanie Kulas, Angela Pfeilsticker and Forrest Kernen; 12 great grandchildren Garrett, Ashley, Alek, Jordan, Gracie, Ryan, Korbin, Paylin, Kastin, Kollins, Veda and Zoey. She is further survived by one sister Shirley (Gutho) Allred.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Harvey; daughters Linda Wagler and Wanda Kernen; one son-in-law Earl Wagler Jr.; one granddaughter Carrie Wagler; and was further preceded in death by six siblings Ellery, Russell, Delores, Geraldine, Joyce and Maynard.
Thank you to the Homme Home for the Aging in Wittenberg, Wisconsin, for their compassion, care and overall attention to Dorothy’s needs. The family is appreciative to have such great care so close to home.
At Dorothy’s request, a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
