Donovan looks back at LittleWolf Gallery’s first year

By Donovan

First and foremost, I want to the thank the artists. LittleWolf resides in small-town America. Iola is a great place which represents some of the best of America. It is in the mission statement of LittleWolf to “Add to the culture of our rural community by offering a small piece of big-city sounds, tastes, and sites”… perhaps even helping to bridge this annoying divide we are all experiencing.  I am grateful to the amazing artists who have chosen to join me in this mission. Believe me, these artists (some of which are in history books and display their work in museums across the country) do not need LittleWolf to promote their work!  Thus, I am continually humbled!  Audrey Handler, Wes (and Wes) Hunting, Sharon Fujimoto, Lisa Koch, Dan Castle, Elise Thorton, Carolyn, Mati, Troy and Deb, John, and all the others. Thank You!

Next, I want to thank all the musicians!  A core part of LitleWolf is dedicated to the singer/songwriter. We have had many great acts thus far … TAE, Kyerokaya, Bomber-Lila, 2 Man Group, Bown Bestul & Kramden, Marbin, Clinton Miller and more.  Thank You!

I want to make a special shout-out / thanks to the Millstone of Iola. As many can attest, they have been great supporters of the Iola community, including LittleWolf Gallery! Thanks Tom!

Last but not least, I want to the thank all the patrons!  It is has been one of my life’s pleasures to meet all of these great people, making new memories along the way. Thank You!

The year ahead
Over the course of the year, LittleWolf has made tweaks… adding one thing, or eliminating another. However, along with (Glass) Art and Live Music, Coffee, Wine, and Cheese have been the cornerstone of what LittleWolf has to offer. Moving into 2023, LittleWolf will double down on this effort.

LittleWolf has added a few Ruby Coffees to its inventory, from Peru, to Ethiopia, to Colombia. We will continue to add to this offering, for both serving espresso drinks and for 12 oz. bags to go.

LittleWolf is also adding more French Winery’s and Regions for your in-house or take-home enjoyment!  We are now offering a few higher-end French Wines, such as a Chateauneuf-du-Pape (CDP) from Rhone. We are continuing our efforts to learn more and more about French wines, and will introduce Wine Club subscriptions and events in the near future.

Lastly, we have purchased a commercial display refrigerator! This means that (starting in August) all of our Hook’s Cheese will be on display. We will always carry a good selection from Hook’s, and will possibly add other brands down the road.
