Donald H. Carlson

February 1, 1931 – November 22, 2020

Donald Harold Carlson, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, formerly of Iola, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Nov. 22, 2020 at the age of 89 years.

He was born on Feb. 1, 1931, in the town of New Hope, Portage County, Wisconsin, to the late Clayton and Helen (Engum) Carlson.

Donald served in the Army during the Korean war. He was as a sheet metal worker for GPF in Milwaukee for over 25 years. Don enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and playing Bingo.

He is survived by: his wife Marian (Merde) Carlson of 64 years; son Eric; brother Clarence (Carol) Carlson; sister Janet Olson; brother-in-law Julian (Carol) Merde. Don is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and three sisters.

Funeral service will be held at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola on Thursday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. with Rev. Dan Somers officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m.  Interment will be at the Northland Lutheran Cemetery in Northland on Friday, Dec. 4, at 10 a.m.
