Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department commends officers for heroic actions
On Sept. 2, 2025, Sheriff’s Deputies Ernstmeyer, Makuski, and Deuman were dispatched to a medical emergency in the Township of Farmington, Waupaca County, Wisconsin. Responding to a person in crisis, the deputies demonstrated exemplary communication, teamwork, and immediate medical care at the scene, sustaining lifesaving efforts until emergency medical services arrived.
The deputies’ commitment extended beyond the initial response, as they continued to assist medical personnel during the individual’s transport to the hospital and throughout the treatment process. Their training, dedication, and professionalism directly contributed to saving a life and ensuring the individual received the necessary support.
In recognition of their outstanding service, the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department has awarded Deputies Ernstmeyer, Makuski, and Deuman the Lifesaving Award. Sheriff Tim Wilz praised their actions, stating: “The actions taken by these deputies reflect the very best of the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office. Their teamwork, compassion, and commitment to preserving life made a difference on one of someone’s worst days. I am incredibly proud of their professionalism and dedication to serving our community.”
