Delores Margaret (Kitzman) Rice

November 16, 1928 – March 18, 2023

Delores Margaret (Kitzman) Rice, 94, of Iola, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Manawa Community Living Center, Manawa, Wisconsin, where she had been a resident for the past three years.

She was born on Nov. 16, 1928, in Town of Wyoming to the late Ferdinand and Elizabeth (Schivie) Kitzman.

Delores married Wilbur “Buddy” Rice on March 27, 1948, in Evanston, Illinois. He preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 2019.

Delores was a homemaker. Her cooking was talked about throughout the years. She had a special love for her pets – cats, and dogs. Delores worked as a waitress at the Meadow Inn, Gators (Iola) (Switzers), and the Iola Golf Course. She sold Avon, loved going to church and was a member of the Ladies Aide

She is survived by her daughter Diane Rice of New London, Wisconsin; son Gary (Cory) Rice of Iola; grandchildren Steven Rice, Jonathan Koepler; brother Bernard (Izzy) Kitzman of Waupaca, Wisconsin; nieces and nephews Tammy, Tommy, Suzie, Reynold, Carolyn, Mary Jane.

She was preceded in death by two sisters Blanche Peterson, Dolly Connley, and brother-in-law Russell Rice.

The Funeral Service for Delores will be held on Wednesday, March 29, at 11:30 a.m. at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola with Rev. Janice Kuder officiating. Public Viewing will be held at Voie Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10-11:15 a.m. Interment will be at Iola Riverside Community Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Iola Nursing Home and Manawa Community Living Center for the excellent care that was provided to Delores while she was a resident.
