David J. Groenier

March 23, 1940 – July 2, 2023

David J. Groenier, 83, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, passed away on July 2, 2023.

He was born on March 23, 1940, in Darlington, Wisconsin, son of the late John C. Groenier and Dorothea G (Schlosser) Groenier.

David married Nancy C. Rades on July 10, 1965.  She preceded him in death on November 11, 1987.  He married Joan Olson on June 24, 1989.   

When not spending time with his family, friends or his beloved kitty cats, David pursued several hobbies that he indulged with gusto:  golf, boating, model trains, and other various model collections.  An avid NRA member and certified shooting instructor, he loved shooting, and collecting firearms and was active in his local shooting club.

He is survived by his wife Joan; children David (Colleen) Groenier Jr. and Robert Groenier; 10 grandchildren; sister Kathryn Badura; stepchildren Jeff (Gena) Olson, Debby (John) Shaffrey, and Lynn (Pat) Kerrigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Nancy Groenier.

 The Funeral Service for David will be held on Friday July 7, at 2 p.m. at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola with Rev. Dale Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 12:30-2 p.m. Interment will be at Iola Riverside Community Cemetery.
