US Rep. Tony Wied (WI-8th)

Requests for Community Project Funding (CPF) for Fiscal Year 2027 are being accepted by Congressman Tony Wied (R-WI), the representative for Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District.

This initiative allows eligible entities to seek direct federal funding for local projects aimed at improving communities across Northeast Wisconsin. The announcement is significant as it continues Wied’s efforts to bring federal resources to the district, following his successful securing of over $12.4 million in similar funding for FY26.

The CPF process enables members of Congress to direct funding toward specific community-benefiting projects, subject to strict eligibility, ethics, and transparency rules. Only state, local, tribal, and territorial governments, as well as certain nonprofits, may submit requests.

In a statement, Congressman Wied emphasized his focus on the district’s residents. “My top priority as Congressman for Wisconsin’s 8th District is to make life better for the great people of Northeast Wisconsin, and that includes securing federal funding for projects that improve our communities,” he said. “I was proud to secure over $12.4 Million in funding for FY26, and I look forward to bringing more resources back to our district this year. If you have a project that may qualify for federal funding, I encourage you to apply.”

To qualify, proposed projects must demonstrate strong community support and need, include a financial disclosure confirming no conflicts of interest for the member or their immediate family, and establish a clear federal nexus through a written statement tying the project to federal authorization law. Wied’s office may submit no more than 15 CPF requests across all eligible accounts.

This announcement marks an early step in the FY2027 appropriations cycle, providing local leaders and organizations with an opportunity to advocate for federal support on infrastructure, public safety, and other community priorities in Northeast Wisconsin.

Submissions should detail the project’s benefits to residents throughout Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District, including Waupaca County.

Requests will be accepted until the close of business on April 3. Governmental entities are expected to receive priority consideration in the review process.
