Congratulations Tom Anderson!

Iola-Scandinavia High School softball coach Tom Anderson was inducted into the Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association (WFSCA) Hall of Fame on Saturday evening, February 10th in Wisconsin Dells.

He was presented by long-time assistant coach Stacy Bestul, daughter Brooke Manley, and son Brett Anderson.

Anderson is entering his 33rd year as head softball coach at Iola-Scandinavia.  He started coaching softball as an assistant coach at Necedah High School under Carol Kubicek in 1991 before moving on to Iola-Scandinavia the next year.  He was a 5th-grade teacher for over 30 years before retiring in 2017, but he continues to coach softball.  His teams have taken eight spring training trips to Disney World. His teams have won 4 conference championships, 10 regional championships, two sectional championships (losing four sectional championship games), and winning the WIAA D-4 state championship in 2023. His current coaching record is 440-257.

Anderson has been married to his wife Sara for 33 years and they have two children: Brooke (Brandon) and Brett (McKenna) along with three grandchildren: Gideon (3), Jaelyn (1 ½), and Amelia (1).

Former Iola-Scandinavia coaches Judy Morey (basketball) and Steve Fleckenstein (football) are also state hall-of-fame inductees into their respective state coaches hall-of-fames.
