The Iola Historical Society is set to convene a meeting at the Machine Shed on Depot Street on Monday, Feb. 26. The meeting will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with a board meeting, followed by the membership meeting at 6:30 p.m.
Under the business segment, the club will focus on initiatives such as a Salute to Veterans, planning for the upcoming Strawberry Fest, and organizing the Taste of Norway event. Furthermore, discussions will revolve around planning for major community fundraising events, establishing objectives for the 2024 Enhancement and Maintenance Project, and strategies to enhance visitor appeal during the summer season.
The program for the evening promises a delightful trip down memory lane with a spotlight on “Recalling the Clothing Styles of Bygone Days” starting at 7 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness selections from the club’s archive, showcasing attire worn by past residents, providing a unique glimpse into the community’s rich history.
