Carolyn A. Gunderson

Carolyn A. Gunderson, 84, of Iola, Wisconsin, passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, at Bethany Home in Waupaca, Wisconsin.
She was born on Dec. 4, 1939, in Iola to Arling and Gladys (Helgeson) Sorenson.
Carolyn graduated from Iola High School in 1957. After graduating, Carolyn received her Beauticians license.
Carolyn married Robert “Gundy” Gunderson in Iola on Aug. 20, 1960.
She worked at the First State Bank in Iola, then Farmers State Bank in Waupaca for many years and retired from the Iola Law Office.
Carolyn was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed camping, fishing, car races, sports and meeting friends for coffee. She enjoyed traveling to various destinations with Gundy with their favorite being Destin, Florida.
She is survived by her children Todd (Maureen) Gunderson and Robyne Gunderson; grandchildren Luke (Tiffany) Gunderson, Chad (Payton) Gunderson, Janelle (Fiancé Marlon Senior) Gerds, and Clay Gerds; great-grandchildren Jace, Cade Jax, Eli, Archer, Braelynn, Reyna and Baby Boy Senior coming in December; brother James (Linda) Sorenson; sisters-in-law: Linda Sorenson and Nancy Sorenson, along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Gundy”; brothers Dennis and Kenneth Sorenson; and nephew Jason Sorenson.
The family would like to give a sincere thank you to the Oncology team, her APNP Heather Gruszynski, the staff at Bethany, Cara Frias at Waupaca County ADRC, and friends and family for their care and support.
A Memorial Service for Carolyn will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iola on Friday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dennis Olson will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30-10:45 a.m.
