Carol Louise (Erickson) Lashua

December 30, 1930 – January 15, 2021

Carol Louise (Erickson) Lashua of Iola, age 90, passed away, Jan. 15, 2021.

Carol was born on Dec. 30, 1930, to Arthur and Agnes (Olson) Erickson in the Township of Harrison. She attended Harrison Center Elementary, then Rosholt High School.

Carol worked at the Crystal Café and then for Dr. Wilkes and Dr. Wiley in their clinic. She later in life enjoyed working the Grayhill and Iola Nursing Home.

She married Robert (Bob) Lashua, a dairy farmer in Harrison, and remained on the home farm until retirement. Carol was an active and loving mother to her five children: daughter Sue Voie of Iola, sons Richard (Sandy), William (Barb), John (Patty), and Jack (MaryJo), all of Iola. She had 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Carol was active at Northland Church with Sunday school as superintendent in her earlier years and with the Ladies Group. She thought a lot her church family. She enjoyed travel with her sisters and husbands as well as their neighbors while living in Harrison Township. She mostly enjoyed her trip to Norway.

She is preceded in death by husband Robert (Bob); her granddaughter Kallie A. Voie; a grandson Chad M. Lashua; grandson-in-law Todd Louison; three brothers and wives: Ernest/Bernice Erickson, Marvin/Thelma Erickson, and Roger/Dorothy Erickson; as well as her sister Sally/Bob Klein; and brother-in-law Robert (Vivian) Waters.

Carol was most happy when visiting with her family, her last living sister Vivian and she would say her entire extended family meant so much to her. She also had special friends at the Butternut Ridge where she had been living for the past eight years. She has fond memories of her neighbors while living on the farm in Harrison.

Due to Covid 19, a private family funeral service for Carol will be held at the Northland Lutheran Church on Saturday, Jan. 23.  The Rev. Dan Somers will officiate. Those in attendance please wear a mask.

A public graveside service will be held following the service at 11:45 a.m.

Carol will be deeply missed by her family. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Northland Lutheran Church Sunday School.
