Have you ever wanted to learn how to crochet? Or have your crochet skills gotten rusty from disuse?
Drop in any time between 2-6 p.m. on Feb. 21 to learn (or re-learn) this easy, fun craft with librarian Meredith! The program also runs from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, so feel free to attend on one or both days.
After learning some information about yarn and hooks, a basic washcloth project will teach you chain, single crochet, double crochet, and fan stitches; edge stitching and turning corners on an easy border; and weaving in the yarn ends.
An easy coaster project will teach crocheting in the round.
A couple of bonus patterns will also be available.
This program is designed for ages 10 through adult and is free to attend, although we recommend that participants bring their own yarn and crochet hook.
A 2 to 2-1/2 oz. skein of weight category 4 cotton yarn, such as Lily Sugar ‘n Cream or Lion Brand Re-Up, wil be enough for both projects. The library will have yarn that participants can use if they’re unable to bring their own. A small number of crochet hooks may also be available to borrow during the program. Please call the library to reserve a hook, if you think you will need one.
