- Mike Harbridge, current president of the Iola-Scandinavia School Bord, will face Rick Meyers, who brings with him Iola Village Board experience, in the spring election. Tony Neumann is unopposed for a seat on the school board previously occupied by Shannon Hardel, who declined to run for reelection.
- Andrew Williams PhD, son of Keith and Pat Williams of Iola, was the recipient of the MET’s Best Video Game Trailer award for “Witness to the Revolution”. The trailer was developed with faculty, students, and alumni from UW-Stout’s School of Art and Design.
- Mark McCoy is the owner of Flat Tracker Tap, formerly the location for Northern Lights and Sportsmans Bar, in Iola, at 160 West State Street. He also offers U-Haul services.

- Kristian Welch, who plays special teams and inside linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, returned home to Iola and visited an Iola-Scandinavia girls’ basketball team on Jan. 28. His sister Karina coaches the JV Lady T-Birds. Also visiting his brother Joel, the head coach of the Varsity Lady T-Birds, was Tyler Biadasz from Amherst, who now is the starting center for the Dallas Cowboys.
