Albert (Al) Marchetti
May 25, 1936 – December 27, 2021
Albert (Al) Marchetti, age 85, of Iola, Wisconsin, died on Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, at home surrounded by his family.
Al was born in Jeansville, Pennsylvania, on May 25,1936, the son of the late Albino and Anna (Marcinko) Marchetti. He grew up in Eastern Pennsylvania, joining the Air Force after graduating from high school.
Al married Patricia Barrett in 1959, they had six children and later divorced.
While in the Air Force he served in The Azores, California, Florida, Germany, and Texas, retiring after 20 years.
After retirement from the Air Force, he moved to Cudahy, Wisconsin, where he met and married Carole Kuenstler and they lived in New Berlin, Wisconsin, before moving to Iola in 2002. He worked at Zenar Corp. for 24 years, retiring in 2002.
Al is survived by his wife Carole of Iola; his children: Albert Jr. (Norma) of Ogden, Utah, Cynthia (Tim) Olson of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Therese Wallace of Waukesha, David (Alyssa Komer) of Madeline Island, Wisconsin, Kevin of Racine, Wisconsin, and Michelle (Ray) Herschleb of New Berlin; stepchildren: Gail (Gregg) Gilmore, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, David (Melinda) Kuenstler Big Lake, Minnesota; sisters: Joan (Robert) Barkocy of Palatine, Illinois, and Leona (Rodney) Coffin of Hazelton, Pennsylvania; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters Rose and Dorothy.
Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022, at noon at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iola with Rev. Dr. Karen Rendall officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10-11:45 a.m. at the church. Entombment of cremains will take place in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King.
