Adeline Jean Flatoff obituary

Adeline Jean Flatoff

May 3, 1934 – July 10, 2022

Adeline Jean Flatoff passed away peacefully on July 10, 2022, at age 88.

Adeline was born, grew up, and was married in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

She was the daughter of Stanley and Agnes (Slusarski) Flatoff. She had one brother (deceased) Ed Flatoff.

In Stevens Point, Adeline married World War II Veteran and later furnace repair man with Iron Fireman company, Henry Pawelski (deceased), in Stevens Point. Adeline and Henry had four children together; Allan, Cindy, Linda, and Jane.

Adeline was quite ambitious and worked hard all of her life. At an early age she was babysitting (for the Noonan family). In her teens, she was an avid photographer with her Kodak Brownie camera. She then worked at Point Bakery where she met her husband, Henry.

Later Adeline started collecting antiques and became a “Picker” – buying antiques from people and then sell them to antiques dealers. Eventually she opened Adeline’s Antiques in the Plover Mall outside of Stevens Point. In approximately 1980, she moved shop to the current location of Adeline’s Antiques on Main Street in Scandinavia, Wisconsin.

Adeline was blessed with three grandchildren: Scott, Kevin and Diane. Along with the grandchildren, Adeline is survived by her three daughters: Cindy, Linda and Jane.

An outspoken free spirit, with a sentimental and generous heart, also an avid reader in her golden years, she taught us the benefits of good, hard work and consideration for others. Adeline is forever at home in our hearts. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, at noon at the Maple Crest Funeral Home. Friends and family may gather on Friday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
