November 27

In a bustling evening at Iola-Scandinavia, the Middle School Boys Basketball team will be hosting Amherst at 5:15 p.m., promising an exciting match for basketball enthusiasts. Simultaneously, the High School JV2 Girls Basketball team will be showcasing their skills at Wittenberg-Birnamwood at 5:45 p.m. If sports aren’t your scene, the Iola Town Board meeting at the town hall at 6 p.m. offers a chance to engage with local governance.

November 28

The community in Scandinavia is gearing up for a day of meetings and activities. The Scandinavia Garden Club will convene at Iola Village Hall, Iola Community Room, at 9 a.m., while the Scandinavia Public Library meeting will take place at the Scandinavia Municipal Center at 3 p.m. Book enthusiasts can join the Scandinavia Public Library’s Book Club at 3:40 p.m. Later in the evening, the Iola-Scandinavia JV2 Girls Basketball team will host Omro at 5:30 p.m., followed by the JV & Varsity Boys Basketball teams hosting Pittsville at 5:30 p.m.

November 29

Start your Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iola from 8-11 a.m. with the Mission Quilt event. Families with little ones can head to the Iola Village Library for Preschool Storytime at 10 a.m. For those looking to give back, the Iola Lions Red Cross Blood Drive at the Iola-Scandinavia Community Fitness and Aquatic Center from noon to 5 p.m. is an excellent opportunity. The day rounds off with a Cribbage Tournament at Silver Lake Lanes at 1 p.m. and an evening of Bluegrass at Northland Sports Bar & Grill at 7 p.m.

November 30

Sunday starts with a sense of community with a Community Coffee session at the Scandinavia Municipal Center from 8-10:30 a.m. Crafting enthusiasts can join the Crafting Bee at the Scandinavia Public Library at 10 a.m. Cribbage Tournament enthusiasts have another chance at Silver Lake Lanes at 1 p.m. In the evening, the Iola-Scandinavia JV & Varsity Boys Basketball teams will host Almond-Bancroft at 5:45 p.m., and the High School JV2 Boys Basketball team will host Manawa at the same time. The day wraps up with an Open Mic session at Odin & Freja’s Place in Scandinavia at 7 p.m.

December 1

As the week begins to wind down, join the Sit-n-Stich event at Iola Village Library at 2 p.m. Families can partake in Family Friday at the Iola Village Library from 2:30-4:30 p.m., featuring Recipes in A Jar. Sports enthusiasts can head to Northland Sports Bar & Grill for a Pool Singles Tournament at 5:30 p.m. for a chance to win the 100% payout.

December 2

The week concludes with the highlight of Iola’s festive season — the Iola Christmas Parade at 4:30 p.m., followed by visits with Santa at the Machine Shed, Iola Historical Society, Depot Street. For those looking for evening entertainment, John Steno will be performing at Odin & Freja’s Place at 7:30 p.m.
