This academic year welcomes five new teachers in the Iola-Scandinavia School District.
Annie Krueger, Middle School English and Spanish teacher, graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, taught four years in Utah and four years in Marshfield. She grew up near Chicago, Illinois.
Brooke Manley, Middle School/High School science teacher, is the former Brooke Anderson who graduated from ISHS in 2007 and attended Viterbo University in La Crosse. She taught at Aquinas High School in La Crosse, where she also coached cross country, basketball, and softball.
Jamie Bestul is the new Special Education teacher.
Max Wasikowski, High School Math teacher, brings 11 years of instructional experience with him. He graduated from UW-Whitewater and taught at Cudahy High School, where he was also head football coach.
Scott Tappa, Middle School/High School business teacher, came to Iola originally to work at Krause Publications/F + W Media. He left there to take a communications position at UW-Stevens Point. For the past 10 years he’s been coaching youth football, basketball, and baseball and has written five coaching books and three fiction children’s books.
